The Journal of Wildlife Science (JWLS) is pleased to announce a Special Issue titled “Advances in Avian Biology”, brought out in collaboration with the National Symposium on Avian Biology (NSAB) 2025. This Special Issue aims to highlight historical and contemporary research in ornithology being carried out in India, reflecting diverse research themes, including the scientific contributions showcased during NSAB 2025.

NSAB 2025 was held at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali from March 10–12, 2025, along with the 6th annual meeting of the Association of Avian Biologists of India. The symposium brought together leading ornithologists, ecologists, policy makers, and early-career researchers from across the country to present their findings and to discuss new insights into avian ecology, behaviour, evolution, and conservation challenges. In alignment with this initiative, JWLS invites high-quality manuscripts that advance our understanding of birds and their ecosystems.
